1. Acceptance of these terms
By accessing or using Their Why (the “Service”), you agree to these Terms & Conditions and to our Privacy Notice. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
2. What the Service is
The Service generates a personalized reading from birth details you provide, drawing on several traditional systems (Western astrology and numerology, Human Design, Chinese zodiac, Vedic astrology, and the Maya calendar), including an AI-written summary and optional compatibility readings for groups.
3. For reflection & entertainment only
The Service and all readings are provided for self-reflection, insight, and entertainment. They describe themes and tendencies. They do not predict the future and are not professional advice. Do not rely on the Service for medical, psychological, financial, legal, relationship, career, or any other professional decisions. Always consult a qualified professional for those matters. You are solely responsible for any actions you take based on a reading.
4. Eligibility & age
You must be at least 18 years old (or the age of majority where you live) to purchase or use the Service. Readings about a child are intended to be entered and read by that child's parent or legal guardian.
5. The information you provide
You are responsible for the accuracy of the birth details you enter; readings are only as accurate as the information provided. When you enter another person's details (such as for a compatibility reading), you confirm you have a reasonable basis to do so. How we handle this information is described in our Privacy Notice — in short, we do not store your birth details on our servers; they are used only to create your reading, then discarded.
6. Purchases, payments & refunds
Pricing & payment. Some readings require payment. The price is shown before you buy. Payments are processed securely by Stripe; by purchasing, you also agree to Stripe's terms. We do not see or store your full card details.
Immediate delivery. Readings are personalized digital content created and delivered immediately after purchase. By completing your purchase, you ask us to begin generating your reading right away, and you acknowledge that once it has been generated, any statutory “cooling-off” or withdrawal right that might otherwise apply (for example, the EU/UK 14-day right) no longer applies.
Refunds. Because each reading is custom-generated and delivered instantly, all sales are final and we generally do not offer refunds for a change of mind. However, we want you to be happy with your purchase, so:
- If you were charged in error, charged more than once, or did not receive your reading, contact us at michelle@hannfamily.com within 14 days and we will re-deliver it or issue a full refund.
- If something went technically wrong while your reading was being generated, contact us and we will regenerate it at no extra charge or, if we cannot, refund you.
- Beyond that, we may still offer a refund or account credit at our discretion as a goodwill gesture.
Nothing in this section limits any rights you have that cannot be waived under the consumer-protection laws of the place where you live.
7. Acceptable use
You agree not to: use the Service for any unlawful purpose; disrupt, overload, reverse-engineer, scrape, or gain unauthorized access to the Service; resell or commercially redistribute readings without our written permission; or misuse another person's personal information.
8. Intellectual property
The Service — including its software, design, text, and underlying content — is owned by us or our licensors. We grant you a limited, personal, non-transferable license to use the Service and to keep and share the readings generated for you for your own personal, non-commercial use.
9. Third-party services
The Service relies on third parties (a mapping provider, an AI provider, a payment processor, and a hosting provider). We are not responsible for their availability, content, or practices, and their terms apply to their portions of the processing.
10. Disclaimer of warranties
The Service is provided “AS IS” and “AS AVAILABLE,” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or uninterrupted or error-free operation, to the fullest extent permitted by law.
11. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss arising from your use of (or inability to use) the Service or reliance on any reading. To the extent we are found liable, our total liability will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid us in the past 12 months or USD $50.
12. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from claims, damages, and expenses arising out of your misuse of the Service or your violation of these Terms or of any law or third-party right.
13. Changes, termination & governing law
We may modify or discontinue the Service and may update these Terms; material changes will be posted here with an updated effective date. We may suspend access for violations. These Terms are governed by the laws of your applicable jurisdiction.
